Wow. The smoke inhalation in here is really awful. Now I remember why I don't come to places like this. ("Wang ka" = internet cafe!)
Tonight I'm heading to a "tiao wu ke"---dance class---with my "biojie," which actually doesn't mean just "cousin," it means "older female cousin on my mother's side." Our mothers are sisters, so she calls me her "biomei," or "younger female cousin on her mother's side." I call her brother my "bio ge," or "older male cousin on my mother's side."
I went to the dance class last Thursday and it was really fun! I didn't understand any words that the teacher said other than "pi gu," which means BUTT. Heh heh. But it was a lot of fun and hopefully it's a good time tonight too...
Okay, gotta get out of here. Can't deal with this smoky smoky.

Another internet cafe

As all of you know, China (and more specifically, Taiwan) is a big part of my heritage. My mother was born in China but raised in Taipei, Taiwan. (FYI, my father was born in Philadelphia but raised in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. So kind of the same.) All of my mother's immediate family still resides in Taipei: my grandparents, my aunt, my uncle, their children and their children's children. I'm going to Taipei this summer for seven full weeks (from May 28-July 15) to live with them, become familiar with their Taiwan lifestyle and finally learn to speak some Mandarin.
